The Village Store in Hipsburn near to Alnmouth was converted into two cottages some years ago now by the then owner as two homes for his family. In August 2006 it was bought by Geoff and Susan and the 'Old Village Store' was offered out as self catering holiday accomodation. Since that time we have had many happy visitors with many return visits in this short period. Many guests have made the comment they had no idea there was so much to do. It is in an ideal location, being just minutes from Alnmouth train Station and 15 minute walk from Alnmouth beach and village. Lots of local attractions including Alnwick Castle (Home of Harry Potters HogWarts), Alnwick award winning gardens, Warkworth Castle, Northumbria Heritage Coast, the Farne Islands with their huge bird and seal colonies, Holy Island, Lindisfarne brewery, the list is endless, so much to do within a short distance. Dogs very welcome, although we do make a charge for pets. It's a shame to come to Northumberland coastal area and leave your best friend at home. The cottage also has a small patio and garden area for those warmer nights. Lots to do all year round, please call us for availability and prices. Pay by installments available for most breaks.
